I’m currently dual-booting an Acer Chromebook 311 C733 (BOBBA) with Linux, and recently tried going through the steps to install the full ROM firmware (to go Linux-only). However, the machine won’t power on when the battery is disconnected. I’ve tried two different power supplies, connected to the left- and right-side USB-C ports, but nothing happens when I press the power button.
Is my only option now a SuzyQable or debug board, or is there anything else I can try?
Got the full ROM firmware installed by using a debug board (thanks @ChocolateLoverRaj), and now posting here from my Linux-only Chromebook.
Only uh-oh moment was when /dev/ttyUSB{0,1,2} weren’t showing up, but that was fixed by switching from a USB-A-to-USB-C cable to a USB-C-to-USB-C cable. No idea why the former didn’t work, but there you go.
