What is the best/most performant Chromebook currently on this list of supported devices?

I’m looking to buy a Chromebook to put Linux/Debian on as a modern corebooted laptop. I’d like the best specc’ed one there is, if anyone knows what that would be out of all of the ones listed?

The Lenovo Chromebook for Gaming (Taniks) is a good starting point.

Almost everything working ootb. Only need to patch sound end remap keys

other than half the owners having issues with internal storage detection. I wouldn’t recommend TANIKS at all.

My advice is to buy something that is made to run Linux, instead of having to modify firmware and tinker to get things to work. Plus, Chromebooks have basically no resale value and little to no documentation on repairs.

Idk if this would be the best speced but the ThinkPad C13 Yoga (Morphius) has some pretty decent specs for what it is, just make sure you spring for the Ryzen 5 or Ryzen 7 models, though it is a machine from 2021 so you’re dealing with Zen+, but on the bright side: The Hardware Maintenance Manual is available online straight from Lenovo’s website, meaning if something were to break, you could easily disassemble and repair it.

Morphius does not perform very well compared to more recent Intel Chromebooks.
