USB not being powered by port - SOLVED

System Details

  • OS: Linux mint, Xfce edition (on USB)

  • Firmware Version: MrChromebox-2606.1

Summary of the Issue

USB cannot be detected and/or is not getting power from the ports. I’ve tried to do multiple different distros to see if that was the issue, which it wasn’t. I also plugged it into multiple ports, which was also not the issue, I also tried to use multiple USB drives, which also did not end up working. The firmware runs fine as far as I can see, but it just won’t detect the USB. When I first plugged in the drive, it did end up getting detected, but i forgot to add the distro, so I had to unplug it to download from a different computer. after that, it wouldn’t get recognized, or even powered. (my USB i used has a indicator when it’s working, so since it was not on, I knew it wasn’t being powered.) I can’t seem to find someone who had the exact same problem with a solution that worked for me.

The USB should be in the boot menu, but it just isn’t. It could be user error and really obvious.

EDIT:It does seem like the ports are working, but not with USB drives. I tested it with my mouse and it showed up in the firmware menu.
