USB backup device failed to mount while trying to store firmware backup

Hello:

I’m trying to flash the UEFI firmware, but every time I try to have a backup for it to my USB, it keeps saying “USB backup device failed to mount.”

I’m trying to install windows 11 on my Acer Chromebook 516ge and I know it’s compatible. Also I already formated my USB to FAT32.

This is my first time doing it.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

you’re trying to use a USB HDD for the firmware backup? Apparently it has more than one partition, and the script is trying to use the first one on the drive and it’s failing.

repartition the drive or just use a USB stick with a single FAT32 partition

That worked, and yes. I only had an SSD and I had to use it as a USB. I didn’t have any on me, so yea. But thank you for the help! Now windows is fully installed:)
