Unallocated Space trouble

Hey, I’ve been having a hard time trying to get past the “select location to install windows 11” part. namely where we delete all the partitions except for the "Disc 0 unallocated space. firstly, there are two unallocated spaces that i cant delete, disk 0 and disk 1. secondly, windows 11 refuses to use ither of these options. it says “the selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, the OS can only be installed to GPT disks. setup does not support configuration of or installation to disks connected through a USB or IEEE 1394 port” I don’t know if those are two separate problems or not. Thiers a video on YT by Brandon Yen (time stamp 05:57) ive been following without issue up untill this point. thank you for yalls time.

You could try this, but it might not work. That USB/IEEE port error is a b***h.

When you get as far as the partitioning

First, delete all partitions.

Secondly (might not actually work due to keyboard layout weirdness on chromebooks) shift + F10 to enter command line. The F10-key should in theory be nr 10 from the back-key on the top bar (arrow left).

Type “diskpart”.

Type “list disk”.

If only one disk visible, type “select disk 0” (if not use the correct number).

Next, type “clean”

Finally, type “convert GPT”.

Type “exit” and return to the partition manager.

If you are not able to do this, boot the device with a linux live iso of some sort and use the graphical interface of Gparted to delete partitions and set the disk to GPT. If unsure, google it.

Hope one of these solutions work.

Note, there is an alternative solution where one manually set up all partitions and copy files over to the correct places. Its fairly fiddly.

so i got an extra keyboard plugged in to have the f 10 key, but i accidentally hit enter and it worked… IDK why but i guess it bypassed it. i appreciate the help, your real kind. have a good day.
