Summary of the Issue

I have a Chromebook Plus Model CX3402CB-PQ0513

The os details are:-

Version 148.0.7778.250 64 bit

Platform 16640.570 stable channel byra

F/w Marasov.14505.884.0

ARC enabled - true

ARC 15461314

enterprise enrolled false

dev mode false

It runs on an Intel i5-1235u cpu and has 8gb ram

My problem is I would like to remove the Chromebook os and replace it with a Linux os but I can’t access Recovery mode.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. I have tried holding down esc and refresh and then pressing power for a short time.

  2. I have tried holding down esc and refresh and power for >10 sec. No difference.

  3. I have tried holding down esc and maximise and pressing power for a short time.

  4. I have tried a Hard reset and a Factory reset.

Expected Behavior

I was expecting the device to enter Recovery Mode but it just runs up normally.

Can someone help me out?

Hard reset works, which means refresh + power work. Are you sure the ESC key works?
