System Details
- Device: Yaviks (HP Chromebook Plus 15.6)
- OS: ChromeOS
- Firmware Type: Stock
- Firmware Version: script inaccessible
- Internal storage type: UFS
Summary of the Issue
Cannot access mrchromebox.tech from Australia on Starlink Residential Max for 24+ hours to run firmware utility script. The domain resolves to 78.47.63.107 but all packets time out with 100% packet loss. Site loads fine through a VPN. Possibly blocked due to CGNAT shared IP. Mobile hotspot also cannot reach the site.
I’ve been able to access mrchromebox.tech for 1-2 years without issues and previously successfully installed RW_LEGACY firmware. The day I decided to flash Full UEFI firmware, the site suddenly became unreachable and has remained inaccessible since.
Steps to Reproduce
Not reproducible outside my network, but the issue occurs when attempting to access mrchromebox.tech from my Starlink connection or mobile hotspot.
Troubleshooting attempted:
-
Tried accessing from ChromeOS VT2, Mac, and mobile hotspot - all time out
-
Ping resolves to 78.47.63.107 but 100% packet loss on all networks
-
Tried different DNS servers (Google DNS, Cloudflare DNS) - no effect
-
SSH SOCKS proxy through Mac with VPN - works for manual curl but firmware script still fails
-
ProtonVPN Android app - works in ChromeOS but disconnects when switching to VT2
Expected Behavior
Should be able to access mrchromebox.tech to download firmware files and run the firmware utility script.
