Trouble installing linux on chromebook

So I have reached the coreboot management screen, and it recognizes the usb but it always says the booting failed, to verify it contains a vaild 64-bit uefi os. I have tried downloading different linuxs’ (Arch debian or opensuse), on four different usbs but I always get the same message. What are other things I can try to download linux?

(I’m not tech savy, this is my first time trying something like this, but I became very interested in this and would like to see it through, thanks in advance to any advice!)

How exactly are you writing these os images to the usb drive?

Usually when I have that problem is cause you didn’t write/burn correctly

or it’s trying to boot from the hard drive and the boot order is all jacked up

Are you using Rufus to burn the iso/image ?

Hey so honestly I’m not sure what that would be so I’m probably not doing that step. I’m following the steps via the mrchromebox site. Can you explain how I would go about doing that? Or if there’s somewhere I can read up on that?

Hey, I wasn’t. I was trying to download straight from the arch/debian website but I’ll try it through there. Thanks for your help, I’ll let you know if that works!
