Touchscreen and Touchpad settings in Xubuntu for Lenovo 300e

Hello,

I installed Xubuntu on the Chromebook (Phaser360, Lenovo 300e). It works like a charm but I cannot get the following working:

  1. Touchpad side swipe (two finger back/forward and three finger desktop switch)

  2. Touchsreen (no response at all)

Any suggestions how I can get these working?

Thank you

RW_LEGACY or Full ROM firmware?

It is RW_LEGACY

that’s likely why tht touchscreen isn’t working

I suppose there is no work around then…

On that note, for Phaser360 system, could you confirm that I need a SuzyQable for removing the HW firmware lock or would removing battery and connecting via charger do the trick?

you could use something like opencore to patch the ACPI tables before booting Linux, but if you want to wipe ChromeOS and only run Linux, the Full ROM firmware is the way to go

as for WP, what does my website say?

I was reading your website “cover-to-cover” (incredible job by the way and a token of appeciation is on its way )…but I was confused whether battery removal and SuzyQable are interchangable.

so here, CR50 is the write protect mechanism, and SuzyQ and battery are the available methods to disable WP - either or, not both. so booting the device with the internal battery disconnected is sufficient.

Amazing…I will give it a try. Thank you!
