Firmware Version: I installed it earlier today so should be the latest?
Internal storage type: eMMC
Summary of the Issue
I used the mrchromebox script to try to install the RW_LEGACY firmware because I cannot arrange a SuzyQ cable in my country to unlock WP on my asus CX1405CTA (intel n50), after that I used the CRAP script to repartition and recovered around 113 gb out of 128 on the eMMC.
Installing debian 13 was a success but once I tried setting up a GUI, the touchpad didn’t work on either i3 or sway WMs, the libinput debug logs said that it sensed “touchpad jumps” and ignored them and I think the OS actually detected the touchpad.
I also wanted to know whether there are hardware support and performance disparities between full uefi and RW_legacy.
this is an issue with the Pixart touchpad used on your device, search the forums for Pixart and you’ll find the solution. It’s simply an OS calibration/configuration issue, not a firmware one
if you’re not running ChromeOS, UEFI Full ROM is preferred as it is more updated, cleaner boot, with working NVRAM. RW_LEGACY is only for dual booting with ChromeOS
