Thunderbolt / USB-C to HDMI not working

I want to connect my Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i Chromebook code name Lillipup to an external display using thunderbolt or USB-C to HDMI. But it doesn’t recognize the display. Any ideas on how to fix this, people who have had similar issues and people with any ideas at all on how to fix this please let me know!

(Note im running Linux Mint 22, with the newest firmware available, i have updated my MrChromebox Utility Script to the newest version)

Also note that mint, as it is ubuntu based, is not supported and seemingly random issues may happen

I have tried that, but i am open to trying it again to see if it makes a difference. Ill let you know how it goes.

HDMI through Thunderbolt 4 port not working on Redrix

Fedora and Ubuntu do not automatically do eDP through USB-C on Redrix as of how. The good thing is that HDMI through USB-C is possible with ectool. After connecting the adapter and HDMI cable, running # Left port sudo ectool typeccontrol 0 2 0 # Right port sudo ectool typeccontrol 1 2 0 puts the port into DP mode and Linux is able to use the monitor like normal. My guess is that there is a bug with Linux automatic USB-C switching stuff or something.

Please stop spreading misinformation. Autoswitch works perfectly with this workaround.

Only USB hotplugging worked for me. I always had to use the command for HDMI through USB-C on Redrix. Some other people had to use the command on their 12th gen Chromebooks too.
