There's no video output through the USB-C port; is it due to the drivers?

System Details

  • Device: [lenovo ideapad flex 5i 13ITL6]
  • OS: [Windows]
  • Firmware Type: [UEFI Full ROM]
  • Firmware Version: [mr.chromebox 4.19.1]
  • Internal storage type: [NVMe]

My laptop isn’t outputting video through the USB-C port to an external monitor, and I’m not sure if it’s because I don’t have the USB 4/Thunderbolt 4 driver. I’d like to know if you can confirm that it’s due to the missing driver so I can buy one. (Can I get a refund if you tell me it will work with the driver and it doesn’t?)

You mean device is a Lillipup? It’s a Thunderbolt device. The USB-C on those doesn’t do anything but charging on Windows without the drivers.

My Redrix (also thuderbolt device) didn’t output video via USB without TCSS drivers. After installing them, it does just fine, tested at 4K 100Hz even.

But your firmware version is ancient, not sure if that was supported back then? May need an update.

(and no, I can’t guarantee a refund for anything, I’m just another user)

Driver is not free, coolstar never reply here, i not sure if refund is possible in case driver not works
