The Chips WP# Pin must be set to an inactive voltage to change settings

Hi there,

I am using a HP 14 DB0003NA With a Stoneyridge CPU, CAREENA board name, FW Type: Stock w/RW_Legacy, FW Version: Google_grunt.11031.169.0 (06/24/2021)

I am trying to disable WP on it, i have so far tried removing the WP Screw that is segmented in 4 Sections with Spots on the sections, And tried booting W/O the Battery, but it cant boot anyways. I would just like a light distro of linux but The error in the title (The Chips WP# Pin must be set to an inactive voltage to change settings) shows up when i do Flashrom --wp-disable. How would i go about disabling the WP? I dont have access to a SuzyQ nor a soldering iron, so if needbe i can just try Gallium. Any Help Is Appriciated!!

You disable WP on careena by disconnecting the battery and running MrChromebox’s firmware utility script, nothing special is needed.

I tried booting without a battery, and its just either a white flashing screen with a coundown of 4 LED Flashes on the side, or just the backlight turning on. I can only boot into revovery with the battery unplugged, Im kinda new to all of this stuff, but am i doing something wrong?

Really hard to follow what’s going on here.
If you can, make a recovery usb (to restore chromeos on the chromebook) with this https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/chromebook-recovery-utili/pocpnlppkickgojjlmhdmidojbmbodfm
and follow this guide: Recover your Chromebook - Chromebook Help

If you get chromeOS running you’ll be able to follow the steps in the docs
