Just feeding the google search engine in case someone else runs into this same problem!
Basically I was following the instructions but running
echo "wp false" > /dev/ttyUSB0
echo "wp false atboot" > /dev/ttyUSB0
echo "ccd reset factory" > /dev/ttyUSB0
Didn’t work at all for me even though I was in developer mode and logged in as root
. However, thanks to this post I was able to find a way to make it work! Just installed screen on my laptop and connected the suzyQ cable and I was off to the races!
For those without access to an installed Linux Distro, just make a Live USB and install screen to that. I used Fedora KDE.
Thanks everyone for creating a knowledgeable forum that is easy to search and find answers and thanks to MrChromeBox for helping me a cheap way to get a HomeAssistant platform more powerful than a Pi while running free-er firmware!
Oh! This issue I had was on a Lenovo ThinkCentre M60q Chromebox. Kinox Board HWID if it matters.
