[Samsung Chromebook 4+] Power light blinking after disconnecting battery, not booting

Hello, I hit a snag and my chromebook won’t boot without the battery plugged into the motherboard. The led next to the usb port just blinks red when powered. I don’t have the original power supply anymore.

some devices won’t boot without the battery connected, and you have to use a SuzyQ to disable WP in that case

Didn’t work. Turns green, then blinks red. Argh. I’m willing to remove the write-protection screw, can you help if I post pictures?

I can’t help with “didn’t work”

there’s no screw, Chromebooks haven’t used a screw for WP in almost a decade now. For your model, you either boot without the battery connected, or you use a SuzyQ cable. Those are the only 2 options.

Thanks for the quick reply. It doesn’t boot without the battery plugged in + if I plug in a suzy cable. It boots with the battery plugged in. What’s the procedure to power it on with the battery plugged in + a suzy cable to enable developer mode?

You don’t boot without the battery when using a SuzyQ to disable WP - it’s an either or, not both.
