I’m reviving an old ACER Chromebook 15 (YUNA D25-C3F-J8A-A7T) for my parents. Today, it boots up with the missing/damaged page with the “recovery_reason” as “0x5a, No bootable storage device in system”.
I asked my father what happened, and apparently he tried to use ChromeOS recovery after EOL, and did not remove the Write Protect screw. I have since removed the write protection screw. I can get up to the “OS Verification is OFF” page, but I cannot open a terminal from that screen. Has this device been bricked and can I get out of this limbo state to run Ubuntu?
