Removing WP with both (?) CR50/Ti50 and jumper

Hi, I’m trying to install Pop OS on my Chromebook, and to do this, I need to remove write protection. My model is:
AMD Mendocino
Acer Chromebook Plus 514 (CB514-3H, CB514-3HT) MARKARTH :white_check_mark: :white_check_mark: [CR50/Ti50], jumper.

According to the documentation, I need to disconnect the battery and/or bridge the jumper. However, I’m not entirely sure if the jumper I found is correct. It’s very small—much smaller than the jumpers I’ve seen online —and it has a rubber-like coating. I’m hesitant to solder it.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Disconnecting the battery alone didn’t work (checked with flashrom --wp-status).
  • Bridging the jumper with a pencil didn’t work.
  • Manually bridging the jumper with a cable didn’t work either.

What can I try next? Is this the correct jumper?

not sure why you’d expect disconnecting the battery to work, the supported device list clearly states CR50 (SuzyQ, jumper) not CR50 (SuzyQ, battery).

Jumper J35 is correct for all AMD mendocino Chromebooks, as per the picture on my site.
