Recover to ChromeOS - Asus Chromebox 3 - Hardware ID problem

Hi there,

Bought a second hand Chromebox (ASUS chromebox 3) with Windows installed. Just wanted to revert back to ChromeOS but after install i’m stuck in ‘Hardware-ID error’, I cannot skip the screen because then it gets back to ‘keyboard and mouse-screen’, and so on. Tried out to get into developer mode, even tried to revert to Hardware-ID “TEEMO” in the shell, but still no succes.

Can someone help me to get past the ‘Hardware-ID’ error screen. Doesn’t matter that ‘security issues’ are involved, as long as I can use ChromeOS.

Thanks

it might help if you posted a pic of the screen in question, because I’m unaware of any HWID error that prevents the device from booting. A warning is shown sure, but nothing that prevents usage.

if you’re able to get to the shell/VT2 terminal and run my script, you can set the HWID to: TEEMO D7B-A3B-B4Z-S5A-A76

That was the trick, didnt put those ‘serial number’ behind TEEMO.

Thanks for the response!
