I know I could get a traditional laptop but I specifically want a Chromebook because for the money it is hard to find a laptop that is as lightweight and doesn’t need a brick charger. I currently have an Asus CX1 (CX1500CKA) but I have been unable to get working audio using the WeirdTreeThing script even when using the distributions listed in the sticky note, so I assume it’s just not possible to have working audio with this model.
Thanks!
There is not a single chromebook where audio in mainline is impossible. It just takes work, some more than others.

Hi there! sorry I didn’t realize the developer of that script was on here. I tried all the supported distros listed in the sticky note for your script but I didn’t have any luck. I made a thread in the Linux Support section, is there any chance you could take a look at the debug files I posted and let me know if I am doing something wrong/missing a step/not understanding something vs just getting unlucky with this particular chromebook I have?
Thanks!
