Problem reverting back to stock (Spin 11 CP511-1h)

Hello. Total newb here, so please be easy on your replies

I got a Reef board (LTS support) and after playing around with mrchromebox firmware to try different OS, I decided to revert back to stock. Running the firmware script (with battery installed) was not entirely successful but can’t exactly recall why (something like try installing chrome recovery without battery if you have any problem). Anyway when I tried to reboot afterward, I got the black screen of death.

So I ordered a suzyQ adapter to reflash (using a live debian bookworm usb) the backed up rom but running the flashrom command says that SPI bridge is disabled (wp protected?). I tried a few times without the battery but the result is still the same. See pic below.

Is there anything I can do from here?

there is no problem indicated by the flashrom output you posted, the device should power on.

Mmmm. Well too bad it does not. I tried different booting scenarios without success. Perhaps my rom file was corrupted.

Thanks for your reply anyhow. I’ll try with shellball method and see.

Confirmed: the rom file was really corrupted. Had another copy in the cloud and this time it worked out.

I am really impressed with all you are doing mrchromebox and will contribute.

Regards
