Before anyone jumps down my throat: yes, I know this isn’t technically one of the supported models. I’m not trying to use MrChromebox or any of that; I know this is an ARM device and so I’m going to install an Arch Linux distro instead. I still need a bit of help and as far as I can tell this is the best forum on the web to get that help, so cut me some slack. The board is a peach pit board, I can get you the full HWID if needed, but I just need to know how to disable the write protect screw. I’ve been having trouble getting Arch to boot and I’m guessing (could be wrong; again, don’t jump down my throat) it’s because there may be a write protect screw or other write protection that I’m missing. It’s an older model so I’m assuming screw, but any information would be a big help here.
Linux boots from external media on ARM Chromebooks via CTRL+U, there is no need to disable WP to do that – only enable Developer Mode and usb boot (sudo crossystem dev_boot_usb=1
)
