No space in /tmp or on stick for firmware image

I have disabled WP, and am trying to install UEFI firmware on my LISBON-based box.

After I insert the USB stick and hit enter, I get:

cp: error writing ‘/tmp/usb/stock-firmware-LISBON-20250830.rom’: No space left on device.

The stick shows up on the little listing as 115.46 GB.

I am uncertain whether this is a complaint about space in /tmp or space on the stick.

This was the state of the memory stick. Perhaps the doc should mention the need to run a clean FAT format on it?

there is no need to format, only that the first partition on the drive be FAT32 (and have enough space)

I would be happy to help out with some small edits to your docs to save other people the hiccups I had.
