New firmware boot VERY slowly

System Details

  • Device: ASUS Chromebox 3 / CN65 / fizz
  • OS: Windows / Linux / any
  • Firmware Type: UEFI Full ROM
  • Firmware Version: Mr Chromebox 09/14/2026
  • Internal storage type: NVMe,

Summary of the Issue

New firmware has new function, like customizing boot logo. but it boot very slowly, almost 10 seconds or more after the power button pressed. the version 07/14 ~ 08/30 are very fast, but cannot set custom logo.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Compiling the 09/14 firmware

  2. Flash the firmware and reboot

  3. Waiting… the screen will bright up after a loooooooooong time.

Expected Behavior

Keep the boot logo customization, fix boot issue. The screen should light up immediately when power on. and one more thing: It would be excellent if a multi-language module could be added.

so, you’re testing self-compiled firmware of an unknown origin and with an unknown config. You expecting everyone to guess what you did?

It’s the original repo from your github site with branch “next”. I want to see what new features will be added by testing this.

it’s not even the branch I’m currently working on. Posting a bug report on a public form for issues on a random dev branch isn’t helpful. The least you could do is provide the logs we ask for in the docs, rather than “it doesn’t work”. (But I don’t need them, because this issue is already fixed)
