if you look at the supported devices list on the chrultrabook docs, you can see which platforms/generations are fully supported and which have issues.
Looking at the list of HP devices, you need to figure out which CPU generation they have, then use that to match against the devices in the compatibility list.
for instance, the HP Chromebook x360 11.6 inch G4 Education Edition, Nautical Neon specs list a Celeron N4500 CPU. If you google 'Intel ARK N4500` and click on the link to Intel’s specs, you’ll see that it’s a Jasperlake platform device.
Looking at the supported devices list, it’s probably DRAWCIA, and the Linux notes say ‘camera untested’ – which likely means that Linux may or may not support the camera used on the device. Audio is also always tricky, so it’s worth looking on the forums here to see if audio works on Jasperlake devices.
Repeat the above for any other models you are looking for. I’d probably recommend a Geminilake device as I know those work 100% under Linux, and not sure of compatibility issues on newer platforms.
Another good option are AMD Mendocino devices, which are 100% working under Linux and Windows.
