need help to figure out reflashing my acer spin 511
so far I’ve found this info on it
Management as in this device is enrolled in enterprise management? We don’t support that here.
not exactly, im planning on turning this old guy( who was in my drawer for years since I got it,) I use my laptop for any other things but I’m planning on turning this thing into a cyberdeck running ubuntu! if I cant figure out the eeprom on this I would just transplant a rpi 5 into the chassis would have to find a bunch of breakout boards though. also I own the device (its long never been into a school too XD) somehow the battery still works after years of not using it. I should be able to reset the eeprom after soldering breakout wires from the eeprom to an arduino, not planning to buy one of those eeprom programmers since I have a little growing collection of arduinos. took it out of my drawer and seems like I need to reset the eeprom or its borked
oh, I see what you mean. No, no no I am not trying to do that I guess my phrasing should be different but yes getting an eeprom programmer would be faster, cheaper and easier but I̶ w̶a̶n̶t̶ t̶h̶e̶ l̶e̶a̶d̶ f̶u̶m̶e̶s̶ so yes i will be using an arudino from my collection, seems like the chip accepts SPI?
So far ive figured out i need a level converter for arudino’s 5v to 1.8v so long as the speed is fast enough and damn do I hate the fine wires that are sometimes just fuses by themselves, got a spare dc power supply if needed
Oh I’m not the most knowledgeable about that but @elly might be able to help?
allright thanks! no rush just planning on making another project and learning a little about computers (I do more electrical engineering type projects currently) here’s the chip diagram too
is there anyone else you would recommend? seems like she hasn’t been online in a while
