System Details
- Device: gogle pixelbook, EVE
- OS: PopOS 24.04 LTS
- Firmware Type: UEFI Full ROM
- Firmware Version: i forget what it said but whatever the latest the script would have downloaded as of 3/6/26
- Internal storage type: (pixelbook default, whatever it is)
Summary of the Issue
after firmware update and reboot, it hung on boot, stuck at the popos logo for 10+ minutes. i then hard-powered it down and turned it back on. after this and from now on, it boots ok but my os has lost all network devices (no wifi). i still see bluetooth.
Steps to Reproduce
-
update popos to latest 24.04 LTS (updated on 3/6/26)
-
run firmware script and apply UEFI full rom update, also done on 3/6/26
-
reboot and observe issue
Expected Behavior
i expected a normal os env after update/reboot.
i tried clearing nvram; at 1st, after a reboot, it hung again the same as after the fw update. i then cycled the power and it booted up ok but still no wifi. i also noticed no audio either. related? for now, i found a usb-c ethernet adapter which works OK so i’m connected online. would love to figure this out. i also have a secondary pc to use in the meantime.
kernel driver issue, there are threads here on a workaround
i’ll look around. thank you.
found it (on here as you said); adding bootloader kernel parameter: pcie_aspm=off, resolved it. thank you. now, next, my pixelbook lacks functioning audio from its internal speakers (I honestly haven’t checked the courage port yet either). looking for that now….
terminal command alsamixer helped me with audio.
talking to some kernel devs, looks like it can be better fixed from the firmware side, so I’ll do that for the next release
