On devices which boot from microSD, it’s common to run log2ram to extend the life of the cheap storage used. and all flash storage dies eventually.
I’m guessing chromebook storage is bottom of the barrel. Is anyone running anything like this to extend the life of the internal storage? openmediavault has a plugin for it.
