So I followed the guide here : How to install Windows 10/11 on a Chromebook
and installed windows, everything worked fine.
Keyboard, wifi, sound, touchscreen, cameras, rotation, touchpad, nub… really everything.
EXCEPT, keyboard backlight, but I don’t mind TBH
Suddenly (after like 2 days of using it with no problems) the system starts feeling very sluggish… like 2 seconds wait for right click menu to appear. So I give it a restart.
To my surprise the keyboard backlight works now, BUT everything else is broken…
No sound, no wifi, no rotation, no nub no touchpad, basically everything except the keyboard broke…
Trier restarting a few times with no help, tried system restore, nothing helped…
It was very slow to even show the boot logo and enter bios so I was thinking its not a windows issue but UEFI/bios related.
So I go to unplug the battery and reflash UEFI, but I instantly notice the fast bootup.
I enter windows just in case, and EVERYTHING works again…
Unplugging the battery fixed it…
Plugged the battery back in restarted a few times… everything is good now, I’m using it to type this.
So I wanted to ask why this happened? Is this common knowledge to have to replug the battery every now and then?
I guess its just a CMOS reset that fixed it?
This is my first chultrabook, any advice would be appreciated thanks!
