Hello, everyone! I have an Acer C330 that I have been trying to convert to Arch Linux for a few years now, and I have returned to try again. I have it on Developer mode, but I am quite lost on what to do next.
In the Dev Console, I cannot log into chronos or a user account, either because I don’t remember or I wasn’t able to.
Honestly I’m very lost and I’m wondering if anyone here has ever converted a C330 before, and if they could help me, please.
Edit: I just plugged in my Arch drive after a restart and the device reads “The device you inserted does not contain Chrome OS.” How do I bypass this?
You can’t just use ChromeOS’s bootloader. You have to flash the firmware. The “chronos” account doesn’t have a password. After you login to chronos, type in "cd; curl -LO mrchromebox.tech/firmware-util.sh && sudo bash firmware-util.sh. After this, you can flash new firmware. If you don’t want to disable FW WP, then install RW_LEGACY.
You can use the ChromeOS bootloader, just most people find it annoying to use. If you can’t login to chronos, do a powerwash to remove any password that may be on it.
Alright I got in chronos now, thanks.
I’ve been using this tutorial: https://youtu.be/PwakjmjEFhg and I can’t run the command sh make-arch_drv.sh. I get the error message
sh: 0: Refusing to exec make-arch_drv.sh from noexec mount: see [link].
Any ideas on what I’m doing wrong?
