I noticed the Hyper-V DISM is missing from my windows install. I want to install WSL2 so I can run a kali linux without having to run a vm. I’ve been using this laptop fine now for years with drivers including the paid ones. Just haven’t been unable to figure this out. Not urgent but if anyone know how to check this info it would be nice! This website has changed a lot since I last was active, but I think the chipset is gemini lake.
Board name and CPU, as reported in the UEFI settings screen
Hi,
from bios:
intel(R) Celeron (R) N4120 CPU @ 1.10GHz
Phaser360
MrChromebox-4.19.1
Not sure if those are the specs you are looking for, those are what I got from the Coreboot menu. I am not familiar with UEFI shell scripting if that is needed…
please boot Linux and update to the latest release
that CPU should support virtualization per Intel
Do I need to boot linux to update the MrChromebox version? I only have a windows 10 OS on this computer, no dual boot.
the only info i can find on this is from one year ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/chrultrabook/comments/12uteie/update_mr_chromebox_bios_through_windows_10/
yes, boot Linux from USB as per the docs. You can make a Linux USB from Windows
