Lenovo 300e 1st Gen

Does Lenovo Chromebook 300e 1st gen Intel support flashing bios with mrchromebox? I see 2nd Gen is supported when searching 300e in supported devices. But maybe 1st also works just not mentioned.

This is why we use board names to determine device support.

Don’t have the device here, I’m looking to buy so can’t check board name unfortunately so I’m asking maybe someone had success with it

BTW I been tying to find in Google what the hwid is but to no success hence why I’m asking here.

the 1st-gen 300e is HANA, an ARM-based device. ARM-based devices are not supported.

This is Intel tho.. There are mediaTek and Intel celeron versions.

no, there are Intel and MTK (ARM) versions of the 300e Gen2. The Gen1 is ARM only.

or, you could just post a link/specs to this mystery device you want us to try and identify based on a completely ambiguous model name.

It’s from ebay, the seller probably put Intel as cpu instead of mtk.. I messaged him and asked if he sure it’s Intel.. Also I’m not 100% sure if it’s a Gen 1 or Gen 2 since he don’t mention it but from the pictures I see it has 4 circular pads at bottom case while Gen 2 seem to have a straight rubber padd across the bottom back.. And gen 1 have those 4 pads.. From what I found in Google searches from pictures comparing gens… or is there a Gen 2 with 4 pads also?

F if I know.

I’d recommend not buying hardware from a seller that doesn’t know and can’t tell you what they actually have. And given that the 300e Gen2 is already almost 10 years old, I don’t know why you’d be interested in a gen1 with presumably worse specs.

The MTK version of this device is awful. There are no GPU drivers for mainline linux so you are stuck with software rendering on the weak CPU.
