Lenovo 100e gen 3 write protection disable?

I have a Lenovo 100e gen 3, and I want to install Linux. In order to disable write protection on this Chromebook, I need to unplug the battery, and boot it up plugged in. however when I did that, It just didn’t have it disabled….. I have a 45w charging cable, and its the one that came with it, so its not that…

I might have an enrolled Chromebook? but I am not quite sure, because I could get into developer mode just fine…

Am I being dumb? Am I ill informed? Do I need to do something that’s painfully obvious?

You don’t need to disconnect the battery. But, you do need to bridge two jumpers with a small, bendable and conductive material (like a paperclip).

Look for the red circle with the two jumpers inside. Thats where you need to disable wp.

Thank you so much!
I did find this actually. I tried it, and forgot I didn’t have a suitable usb. So I left the paperclip in for a week until I could get a new one……..

When I tried to turn it on, it started smoking…

oops.

Oh. Yikes.
Well, R.I.P to that Chromebook I guess.

Wow.. RIP Chromebook
