Legacy Boot options not persisting

I’ve gotten Linux Mint xfce dual booted on my Lenovo 100e 2nd Gen (Phaser) and can boot from file just fine through Legacy. However, when I add the file as a boot option and reboot it doesn’t persist, and I’m left to boot from file again. I can boot with it as a boot option, but it won’t show up again after a reboot. Thanks for any advice.

RW_LEGACY doesn’t support UEFI NVRAM needed to persist boot options. The workaround is to copy the bootloader to the default location:
