I ran the script and rebooted but I still can’t hear anything
Have you tried opening “Volume Controll” → the “Configuration” tab and setting Built-in audio to “default” in the drop-down. If you see no “default” there and just various stuff your audio is probably not ok. Most likely due to old/outdated packages I believe. Had that issue with several distros that are on the more conservative/stable end.
