Is there any way to salvage the fingerprint reader?

I was going to go through with a full UEFI firmware flash, but after more consideration, realized that the fingerprint reader may become dead weight. I was reading through a guide from another Samsung Galaxy Chromebook owner (https://github.com/olm3ca/Galaxy-Chromebook?tab=readme-ov-file), and he said that even using Brunch would leave the fingerprint reader useless.

Is there any way to get it working on Debian 12 or a Kohaku Brunch installation? Would undoing the UEFI update leave the fingerprint reader dead in the water?

Installing UEFI isn’t going to damage the fingerprint reader. It will still work. However, you won’t be able to use it to unlock anything unless you’re on ChromeOS.

Thanks mate.
