Is there a hardware/distro combo that retains Chromebook battery life?

I don’t currently have a Chromebook, but I am thinking about getting one. In the past, I have enjoyed the battery life above all on a Chromebook. I have ejected Google from much of my life, so getting a Chromebook feels a little funny. Are there any combinations of the right hardwear and distribution that allows one to enjoy the awesome battery life that comes with a Chromebook?

It’s only the Google surveillance I am trying to avoid. All of the other restrictions you would experience with a stock Chromebook are fine by me.

You can buy high-end enterprise chromebooks to flash into Windows or Ubuntu, or OSX or Linux, or refuse all electronic products and move out of the city to live in the deep mountains and forests. Thank you
