Hi, i want to install linux on my dell. I know how to install uefi for new os, but i dont know which distro will be the best . Also it have MAXIM 98357a speaker amplifier so if i install linux and drivers for it, it can melt my speakers. I want to avoid that. What can i do and which distro will i need to install?
If you’re new to Linux, Pop!_OS is the most beginner-friendly out of the available options IIRC.
Debian will be familiar if you used standard Linux when your Chromebook has ChromeOS.
Not familiar w/ the best-practices re: blowing speakers. I’d suggest joining the discord and searching the linux channel for references to speakers
Fedora is a pretty good option for a robust, easy-to-use system
Personally, I run OpenBSD on all of my Chromebooks, but that’s because I like fiddling with my system way more than normal :p
Try MX Linux XFCE version. It works on all the Dell 3180s we have.
