Hey yall, recently installed linux (KDE plasma) onto an old chromebook (acer CB5-132T), but after i charged it overnight i was greeted to a nice black screen that won’t seem to go away no matter what i do - any ideas?
perform a hard reset - Press Refresh+power simultaneously, then release
Tried that a few times, just did it again and nothing - screen goes completely off for a moment, then comes back to the same black tone 
also have tried power cord trick, just leaving it on for a while, currently just trying to have the battery run out and see if that does anything, can’t really tell when the chromebook is completely off or not.
sounds like potentially an unrelated hardware failure then
that’s unfortunate. I guess i’ll just try to run out the battery and see if that helps to turn it on. This is an 8 year old shitty laptop, so i wouldn’t be surprised if something just broke. Thanks for the help regardless.
