UEFI Flashing went fine, booted up a ventoy USB and installed Endeavour OS. Installation finished perfectly fine, rebooted and now the laptop doesn’t come on, the fans spool up every once in a while but there’s nothing on the display. Not sure if it’s a hardware issue or I accidently disconnected the screen when I closed the back, but any help would be appreciated.
The power LED is flashing as well, system seems to be on but no display?
Tried connecting to an external display through HDMI, but no luck.
Did it boot on ChromeOS after reassembling the computer to remove write protection? When did it start failing?
Yeah, booted into ChromeOS perfectly fine, I then booted into Endeavour OS to install it, it installed and then didn’t boot after installation.
Does it not boot at all? I.e. no kangaroo?
No display on the screen at all. The fans ramp up and the laptop gets really hot, but no display at all. The screen is connected and there’s no display output through HDMI.
This is a really weird issue. Installing should affect the hard drive, not the firmware or screen connections. This is a real complicated issue. I might provide a solution but maybe it won’t work. Let me think this straight and I’ll tell ya.

Okay, I thought of a solution but it’s gonna be rather difficult. Your firmware was bricked, otherwise it isn’t anything normal. You have 2 solutions:
- You need to learn how to flash the MrChromeBox firmware manually onto the computer’s motherboard (this needs much technical knowledge, and there is a high chance you can BRICK your computer with this method, so use it at your own risk)
- Just buy a new Chromebook, and learn the lesson (which is common in my country), “Whatever you grow you harvest”
I’ll need a SuzyQable for this, right?
