I’ve two monitors, one monitor with HDMI and another monitor with VGA
I’ve connected the first monitor with DP cable to HDMI
but the second monitor doesn’t work, i’ve used a HDMI to VGA adapter and connected it to the second monitor.
Currently using Ubuntu 24.10
$ lspci | grep VGA
00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Haswell-ULT Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0b)
any fix or help would be appreciated!!
either your HDMI->VGA adapter isn’t working, or it’s not compatible. Easy solution is to use a monitor from this century with a HDMI or DP port
If you really want / need the VGA monitor, and it has a DVI port you could try an HDMI to DVI converter. Perhaps using an HDMI to DVI and then a DVI to VGA adapter could also work, but I doubt it. The reason DVI could work better is because the video part of the HDMI signal is identical to DVI (which I think means that adapters are “dumb” and don’t have any analog to digital logic).
