HP Chromebox G1 Enrolled

Hello all,
My company purchased 100 G1’s. This is the second batch as the first batch we went through. We use them with Linux and our custom software installed. The first 100 went just fine. The second is not going as well. Some of them are good and some are enrolled.
We purchased them from a seller that did not indicate they were enrolled, I figure he didn’t know either. They appear to be decommissioned from a school. I need to get them unlocked and flashed but there is so much incomplete information out there I find it hard to filter out.
So, can I just flash the MrChromebox firmware onto them as I have a programmer? Will that un-enroll them? Is there a good source out there to help me out? I understand they are old devices, but they are more than beefy enough and cheap enough for our needs. Any help or advice is welcome!
Thank you,
Ron

yes, but you want to take care to persist the RO_VPD region as per the unbricking guide in order to preserve the device serial # and LAN MAC address for each board

download and flash the UEFI image for ZAKO.

you don’t need to worry about the HWID

MrChromebox,
Thank you for such a prompt reply. I will give it a go and (fingers crossed) it works out.

Dear sir,
Was there a change in the script rolled out over the last day or so? I was able to flash a group of Zako HP Chromebox G1’s just yesterday. I only have just over a dozen more and today I am getting a “unable to read current firmware” error. Does the script no longer support this device?
Thank you,
Ron

there was a change earlier today which broke reading/writing under ChromeOS, but I pushed a fix a few hours ago - it should be working now

Thank you so much! Indeed, it is!
There is an error “./functions.sh: line 438: ldd: command not found” but it flashed just fine.
Thank you,
Ron

fixed

You tha’ man! 100% working as before.
Thank you so much!
