Hello, I recently was trying to boot windows but realized that I don’t meet the requirements so I tried to stop the flashing, bricking my Chromebook, so I am in search of stock firmware for hp chromebook 14a g5. If you have one, please send it, I would like my Chromebook back on ChromeOS. Thanks in advance.
<facepalm>
Please help, I’m in desperate need of stock firmware.
What is the board name? Is it careena by any chance?
download crosfirmware.sh and run with your boardname:
bash crosfirmware.sh <boardname in lowercase>
that will give you a shellball image for your device.
next time don’t stop something halfway thru without understanding how to recover. It would have been trivial to revert to stock had you simply let the flash continue and then re-run the script.
Thanks, you helped alot
search it up on chrome100.dev, my specific model is a grunt board
As you see there, it has to things a board, the one you were asking, and a codename, not a board name, those things are different.
I have the same model HP Chromebook and it had the Snappy bios. Once it no longer got updates I used our process here to turn it into a Nix xfce laptop that has 16 hours of battery life. I am not joking. Happylabdab the most important thing we need here is to know what the firmware is. I had no reason to make a copy of my old firmware as my chromebook was no longer updating. You can however move forward from where you are once you have the bios name.
