Hello everyone,
I have successfully setup linux on my chromebook with full functionality, except the PD charging is not working properly. Anyone have ideas on how to fix this?
To be honest it is just a minor inconvenience but it would be nice for it to work flawlessly
Here are the details
Device: HP Chromebook 11 G7 EE
OS: Linux Mint 22.2 Cinnamon (6.4.8)
Kernel: 6.14.0-32-generic
Observed behavior:
- When charger is plugged in with Linux running, rate is limited at 7-12w (observed from power bank with output meter display)
- When Linux enters suspend fast charging activates (up to normal 45w) and continues charging at that rate even after resuming.
- When charger is plugged in when powered off, fast charging works normally
- When Linux is running and charging normally (such as in scenario #2) unplugging and plugging charger again results in scenario #1 happening
Anyone have encountered this problem and knows how to fix this? I assume it is an issue with ACPI drivers not existing, although i also have no idea how to fix that.
Thank you beforehand for any assistance provided.
