I want to set limits to charging because of battery life span, this setting was available on ChromeOS.
I have Linux Mint 22.1 XFCE installed on a Samsung Chromebook 4 (BLUEBIRD) and did not found information about setting the battery charge threshold at 80% that worked for my model.
Is there a way to set this battery charge threshold? Any tutorials to follow?
Bluebird probably doesn’t support a battery charge threshold. You can manually stop charging (and still power through the charger and not the battery) using ectool chargecontrol idle
. You can also set a script to keep checking the battery % and setting charge control to idle if you want. But note that if you turn off the Chromebook or suspend it then your script won’t be able to stop it at 80%.
