How to flash firmware with CH341A programmer?

hello there! i recently bought a Lenovo 500e Gen3 with the intention of installing Ubuntu 14.04 on it. i disconnected the battery (write protect on my specific model), wiped the device, and prepared a USB stick with an Ubuntu installation. however, for whatever reason, trying to boot the chromebook into developer mode crashes and causes it to shut off. so i bought a CH341A programmer to override the firmware with MrChomebox without using developer mode. does anyone have any advice/tutorials/step-by-steps on how to do this safely? i want to make sure im doing it correctly.

i do also have a separate desktop pc (windows 10), so i can use that if it helps with giving advice.

the CH341A i bought: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PFCJ8G9?ref_=cm_sw_r_cso_cp_apin_dp_9C8NK7TXMB4HJK1QQ5DX

hope that’s a typo.

try a USB recovery? it’s better to flash via the script if you can

there are directions on my site, did you look there?

i did check the site. i looked everywhere. i dont know why developer mode wont work, and my chromebook wont take a usb recovery. anyway, if i managed to miss a tutorial on site, could you send the link please? i have no idea how to use a ch431a properly…

you could have just searched for ch341a in the search box on the upper right corner

thank you!
