Summary of the Issue
I have removed the display ribbon cable from my laptop because the screen was broken anyway and I couldn’t get developer mode options to show up on my external monitor any other way. However, now if I disconnect the external monitor, the ultrabook completely shuts down and refuses to start back up until I plug the monitor back in.
Is this a firmware issue or an OS configuration issue? Do I need UEFI ROM to fix this problem? I tried that first but for some reason the hardware write protection stayed on, despite bridging the cables and disconnecting the battery.
Steps to Reproduce
