How do I get a BIOS on my 2013 Google Chromebook Pixel?

I had purchased it from ebay and initially it would boot up to linux mint and before it would boot to mint it would show this kind of rabbit early into the boot process and then i messed with the chromebook recovery utility trying to restore chromeOS back onto it idiotically and messed with mrchromebox’s firmware utility script within linux mint and tried to restore stock firmware when sadly it roboot and now whenever i try to turn it on the keyboard backlight comes on the display remains black as the fans start spinning at full speed. I need help someone please help i cant acess developer mode or recovery mode the device works but just wont boot to an os or doesent have a bios im unframiliar with chromebooks so someone please help me get ubuntu or windows running on it at least?

well, good job, you bricked it.

The 2013 Pixel uses a WSON-8 flash chip, it’s very difficult to flash/unbrick. You’ll need a WSON 6x5 pogo-pin probe as well as a ch341a flasher and a steady hand. Just follow the unbricking guide on the docs.

The script told you not to go back to stock firmware on an EOL device, why did you think you knew better? What were you trying to do?

idk i was kinda under the influence and dont really know what im doing im unframiliar with chromebook my original intention was to some way restore it to the last compatible veraion of chromeOS or the one it launched with could i at least im not framiliar with chromebooks can i send it to u you seam smart ill give u sumn form of repayment?? like seriously i dont think the sandia computers in abq nm yes rhe breaking bad city is gonna fix this device like i got the box nd everything…

Moral of the story: don’t mess with firmware while under the influence, unless you have experience. As for how to unbrick it: Unbricking/Flashing with a ch341a USB programmer | Chrultrabook Docs that being said, I don’t exactly know the procedure for unbricking a Chromebook Pixel, since the only Chromebook I’ve hacked was my C13 yoga. You can find all the necessary parts on places like eBay, Amazon or places like Aliexpress for dirt cheap. Just make sure you RTFM and possibly stay away from dope until you’re done unbricking it. It would be a very good idea as well to look up a teardown video to get an idea of how to disassemble and reassemble the machine.
