I have Lenovo 500e Gen 4 with Intel Processor, do I buy a Suzy-Q cable or do I buy another board or something?
Why?
I have no idea WTF this even means
It is related to the anti-rollback mechanism in stock firmware, which has zero effect on custom firmware.
because, I really want to get this thing to use ChromeOS, as I don’t have a really good computer to do so. I bought this Chromebook off of Marketplace, the listing said that it was locked to a organization, but not sure, I paid like 60 bucks for it. When I got it, I tried resetting it, but to no avail. I’ve heard that If you have like Kernver 4 or lower, you have a chance to reset it from an organization,
The only way you can get around this is external flashing.
What do you mean by external flashing and how do I do it? Do I just get a Suzy-Q instead to try to fix or bypass this?
External flashing as in an external spi flasher (such as a ch347 or ft232h). Using a SuzyQ will not work because you can’t enable CCD on enrolled devices.
So, I can just flash the cr50? And do I just rewrite the firmware or I have to install something else? I’ve never used an SPI Flasher before. Does it matter what SPI Flasher I get?
So, I can just flash the cr50?
No
And do I just rewrite the firmware or I have to install something else?
Depends.
If your want to ditch ChromeOS and install Windows or Linux, you can just flash a rom from mrchromebox. If you want to stick to ChromeOS, you need to take extra steps to unenroll. If your device has a Ti50 with RO firmware verification enabled, all of the above becomes more complicated.
So, how do I try to get rid of the enrollment if I want to keep ChromeOS? I remember that the Chromebook I bought is a cr50. If I can’t bypass it, and have to install Windows or Linux on it, how do I do it on the Chromebook as it is probably locked down from developer mode?
I tried to flash a older version of ChromeOS, but it said that it couldn’t be installed. What should I do?
