Summary of the Issue

Unable to install Chromebook-Tools in order to have the fan run,

I’ve tried the chrultrabook-tools_3.1.3_amd64.deb file using the terminal and using GDebi. Neither completed. GDebi gave dependency error.

Please help! This Chromebook needs it’s fan to run!! I do have the audio working!

I’ve only used Linux for a month, so go easy on me guys!! LOL

Thank you!
Bob

I’m running into the same audio issue on the latest version of Linux Mint. Fresh install and still no sound. I’ve seen some posts saying the hardware might be too old for proper support, but what’s confusing is that I actually got the audio working once.

I followed some steps with help from ChatGPT and it randomly started working. Everything seemed fine. Then I restarted the laptop and it went right back to no audio again.

I’m going to share a couple YouTube links that helped me during the initial install in case that gives more context. Hope this helps!
