Headphone jack working 50/50

System Details

  • OS: Arch Linux, kernel 7.0.12-arch
  • Firmware Type: UEFI Full ROM

  • Internal storage type: eMMC

Summary of the Issue

Basically when I plug my headphones in there is a pretty good chance anything which trys to play sound through them just hangs, including the speaker tester (front left, front right thing yk). Sometimes when I plug it in it works for a bit till I either use too much CPU or open an electron app (apologies if im just rambling, no clue if this is actual cause) then YouTube music for example just infinite loads, my speakers and bluetooth audio work flawless, just this headphone jack im really stumped on.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Plug in headphones

  2. Listen to music

  3. It hangs :sob:

Expected Behavior

It should play it i guess.

I attached the file from the debug script so you don’t have to read my bad explanation.

Also worth mentioning this has the max98357a (spooky)

Any help will be appreciated, feel free to call me a dumbass if I am one. Cheers.

also if it matters the option to choose headphones is there regardless if they are in or not, let me know if this is intended behaviour
